Sorrow’s Verse by Patricia Spork e-Book
Sorrow’s Verse by Patricia Spork is an e-book filled with my poetry about grief, death, suicide and depression, and includes a few artwork images. Verse was written while mourning the loss my son to depression and suicide. (Read about my loss: Son For All Seasons – free e-book download).
Although the loss of a loved one affects everyone differently, the loss of a child – in any manner of circumstance – can be the most devastating blow encountered by parents in a lifetime. Sorrow’s Verse displays raw emotional thoughts endured during my early bereavement.

Otherwise by Patricia Spork (poem)
OTHERWISE
By Patricia Spork
August 17, 2010 is not as sweltering
As the day and year you were born;
On that early morn, I hung clothes to dry;
Otherwise, dew still clung to wilted grass
And I waited impatient for the next day –
Your scheduled day to burst forth and shine.
I grieve not knowing exactly what was done for your 19th birthday.
Did we bake you a cake or buy one?
Did we use regular candles on the cake or the ones that don’t blow out?
Did we have ice cream, or not?
These questions arise each year since your death;
Otherwise, throughout each year, they subside…and remain…only mine.
You’d think after almost ten years since your passing,
Those questions and others would not weigh my thoughts;
That lighting one candle would not make me wish to light more;
And that although the same questions, there’s always one more;
Otherwise, there’s one question different…new for each year,
Since each year, you’d be older…by birthdays’ design.
Design. D-E-S-I-G-N.
Life is a design…intricate in details.
Death is a design…intricate in derails.
Derailed, I am, today.
Derailment commenced as questions arose;
Otherwise, I’m fine, even as I ask…
Otherwise…Would you have lived to be twenty-nine?“

Haiku Used and Abused E-book
HAIKU USED AND ABUSED by Patricia Spork contains 50, 1 – 3 line short poems, each complemented with an illustration, most in color. Subjects range from animals to child abuse to life/death and 9/11. Some poems are light-hearted, even comical, while others are thought-provoking and serious of nature. Most of the Haiku are non-traditional.
To let you know, the illustrations in this e-book were my first attempt at drawing using a mouse on the computer. Color was added as fill-in by using a paint program. I think most of them are pretty darn good, since I didn’t really know what I was doing. LOL! Images are JPG, so quality not as good as if I’d used GIF, as later learned.
Includes Master Resale Rights (MRR) and e-cover.

Daughter with Cell Phone Ignores Me!
A million other things I should be doing, but I’m playing. LOL!
Taken a long time, but I’m finally teaching myself how to convert digicam home videos for Web use by dickering with freeware video to flash conversion software (converting AVI to Flash [FLV] files). Sorry I’m not providing link to the freeware and won’t until I know it’s decent enough to recommend. :0)
I’ll soon try video editing software, so I can add text, effects and more to my home videos.
For now, during my video learning curve, I’m using a video of my daughter (Carla – E.R. nurse [R.N]), who is totally ignoring me while she diddles with her cell phone. The quality is not great, nor the lighting, but it’s good enough for experimental purposes of converting and hosting videos, since I’ve hosted this video on my site. Once I know more about what I’m doing, may host videos elsewhere, to save on bandwidth. Then again, may not.
Anyhoo, in the FLV video below, you’ll see I get little respect from Carla while she’s checking out Internet social sites or texting friends. The tapping you hear is me knocking on a glass sliding door as I try to get her attention. I know Carla hears me, but look how she does me:
Gotta love Carla! LOL!

Granddaughter at Horse Riding Camp
I’m proud! Last week, my granddaughter Madison (a.k.a Maddie) attended the week-long horse and rider “2010 Summer Camp” sponsored by Turnbow Performance Horses .
Lucky Maddie got to ride a chestnut Tobiano (sorrel and white paint horse) provided by the camp’s sponsor. During camp, Madison learned more about horse care, “tacking out” a horse and received “professional” riding lessons.
You can see Madison (wearing white shirt and solid colored dark riding helmet) training with other “older” cowgirls in this TPH video entitled “Turnbow Performance Horses: June 2010 Summer Camp“:
Pretty cool, huh! Wish I’d have been able to attend the camp’s horse riding show at week’s end, where Madison won “Best Rider”. Whoo-hoo! See why I’m so proud. That’s my gal!
To find out about this children’s riding lesson camp and other horse and rider services offered in Longview, Texas area, then visit Turnbow Performance Horses, where Maddie’s father is employed. :0) Boy, he’s lucky, too!
Okay, enough of my peacockin’ about granddaughter and her “ranch hand” daddy, but had to share. :0)
Hope you enjoy your day as much as I’m enjoying mine!
